JOB DESCRIPTIONS
Senior Benefits Representative
Performs employee benefit customer service duties requiring the use
of independent judgment, independent analysis and detailed knowledge
of employee benefits and benefit plan rules. Administers programs,
projects, and/or processes specific to clients served. Reviews,
investigates and resolves participant, professionals’, and
client inquiries. Troubleshoots, analyzes, and remedies customer
problems within established guidelines. Prepares customer correspondence.
Functions in a call center environment. Work performed may include:
creating, coordinating and processing documents, maintaining complicated
records, creating, preparing and compiling reports, operating simple
office machines. Generally requires previous related work experience,
a thorough knowledge of procedures and employee benefits, computer
experience and a degree in business administration or human resources
or equivalent years of employee benefit experience.
Junior Benefits Representative
Performs advanced and complex, clerical duties requiring the use
of independent judgment, analysis and detailed knowledge of company
and/or department procedures related to work performed. Provides
timely and accurate entry and maintenance of member eligibility
data, generates member ID cards, and enrollment information. Prepares
customer correspondence. Functions in a call center environment.
Work performed may include: coordinating and processing documents,
maintaining records, preparing or compiling reports, operating
simple office machines and contacting suppliers. Works under general
supervision. Generally requires previous related work experience
and a thorough knowledge of procedures, general knowledge of employee
benefits, demonstrated ability to type accurately, computer experience
and 2-4 years clerical experience.
Benefits Assistant
Performs simple or routine clerical duties of a general nature requiring
little previous experience or training. Work performed may include:
answering phones, filing, typing, and data entry. Generally requires
some knowledge of employee benefits, computer experience, accurate
and fast typing and 10-key abilities and 1 or less years of clerical
experience.
Senior Accountant
Performs complex accounting activities relating to the maintenance
of a complete and accurate general ledger and resulting managerial
reports and financial statements. Keeps comprehensive and complex
accounts requiring the analysis of accounting transactions and
the establishment or maintenance of accounting controls. Prepares
monthly financial statements and operating reports for distribution
to management, other company personnel, and clients. Generally
requires accounting software knowledge, knowledge of accounting
theories, a bachelor’s degree or experience equivalent to
a degree in accounting or business administration and 1-3 years
of significant accounting experience.
Junior Accountant
Performs complex clerical duties related to accounting. Analyzes
accounting documents for accuracy, prepares moderately complex
financial reports and analysis. May be responsible for a specific
accounting function such as accounts receivable or accounts payable.
Generally requires computer experience, 2-4 years clerical accounting
experience with some knowledge of accounting theories.
Accounting Clerk
Performs a variety of routine clerical duties related to accounting.
Verifies, posts, adds, computes, matches, balances and summarizes
routine documents. Checks records, prepares vouchers, and prepares
simple reports. Generally requires some computer experience, a basic
knowledge of bookkeeping practices, accurate and fast 10 key abilities,
and 1-3 years of related experience or equivalent background.
Claims Analyst III
Answers calls from providers, participants and Plan professionals
regarding Plan benefits, eligibility, and flexible spending accounts.
Analyzes medical, dental, vision, flexible spending, and disability
claims to determine benefits and process according to term of various
Plan rules. Screens for ineligible expenses and pre-existing conditions.
Coordinates benefits with other carriers. Prepares appeals to be
presented to Appeal Board. Generally requires excellent basic math
skills, 10-key by touch, good typing skills and 2 years related
experience. Requires ability to meet strict deadlines and work
under pressure with minimal supervision.
Claims Analyst II
Answers calls from providers, participants and Plan professionals
regarding dental plan benefits, eligibility, and flexible spending
accounts. Analyzes dental, vision and flexible spending claims
according to the Plan specifications and benefits. Releases pended
medical claims according to Plan benefits excluding claims requiring
procedure or diagnosis investigation. Mails sorting for covered
providers and specific Plan design specifications. Performs data
entry of claims. Generally requires 8,000 key strokes per hour,
typing – 50 WPM, good grammar and communication skills, and
basic computer skills.
Claims Analyst I
Inputs medical and dental claims to ChekClaims system. Inputs batch
drug claims, supplemental claims and release pended claims requiring
basic plan rules to be followed. Responds to requests for Duplicate
Coverage inquiries and tracers. Inputs pre-certification information
into the Claims system. Re-prices PPO claims via internet. Generally
requires 8,000 key strokes per hour, typing – 50 WPM, and
the ability to work independently.
Administrative Assistant
Performs moderately complex clerical and secretarial duties. Assignments
require a basic knowledge of practices and procedures of the function.
Sets up and maintains general office files, prepares reports, agendas,
memos and correspondence. May prepare documents from rough draft
to final form. Transcribes dictation, answers routine correspondence,
arranges meetings, makes appointments, screens calls and takes
messages. Does not include handling of sensitive or confidential
information such as detail payroll data, corporate budget information
or personnel files. Generally requires demonstrated secretarial
skills and a working knowledge of office equipment including word
processor and personal computer and 2 years of related experience.
Office Clerk
Performs simple or routine clerical duties of a general nature. Work
performed may include processing of incoming and outgoing mail,
ordering and replenishing supplies, archiving and maintaining on-site
and off-site files. Inputs time cards and prepares monthly summary
reports. Provides coverage for reception area. Operates office
machines such as copier, fax, mail machine and switchboard. Other
clerical duties may include filing, copying, and data entry. Works
under general supervision. Generally requires 6 months to 1 year
of experience.
Receptionist
Answers incoming phone calls and routes calls to appropriate staff
in an accurate and timely manner. Operates a multi-line telephone
system. Greets clients and visitors promptly and professionally.
Open, date stamp, and sort direct mail. Send and receive FAX transmissions.
May perform other clerical tasks such as filing, typing, and record
keeping. Works under general supervision. Generally requires basic
clerical skills and 6 months to 1 year of previous experience.
Information Services Helpdesk
Assists all workforce members in solving workstation and network
issues. Installs hardware and software as directed. Projects as
assigned including research and making recommendations. Generally
requires a high school diploma or GED and some college courses
in computer science field from an accredited school. Also requires
good organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
Computer Programmer
Creates automated solutions to solve abstract problems. Maintains
the computer network. Installs new hardware and software as directed.
Makes modifications to existing software. Generally requires a
degree in computer science or programming from an accredited school
and 3 years of programming experience.
Computer Operator
Develops and maintains data processing schedules. Performs daily
claims run. Performs and distributes month ends. Produces ad-hoc
reports and labels. Generally requires good organizational skills,
the ability to work unsupervised, working knowledge of computer software,
and 2 years of prior operations experience.
Information Technology Generalist
Designs, documents, develops, analyzes, tests applications for both
internal and external customers; manages the design and development
of IS databases; oversees all technical aspects of A&I’s
websites; analyzes, plans, designs, and installs new personal computer
systems and reviews, monitors and upgrades existing personal computer
systems.
